Exhibit of Beyeler Collection in Basel

The Beyeler Museum whose eponymous art dealer spent his career amassing a huge collection of AAA artwork, has inaugurated a special exhibition to celebrate its 10th anniversary as a museum. The Museum is housed in a modern, very luminous building designed by Renzo Piano.

The celebration doesn’t include any reduction for the public on the museum’s $20 admission charge.

The Galerie Beyeler was in existence for sixty years until 2007 and a savvy selection of the artistically as well as most financially interesting works of art that have passed through the gallery’s hands is now on display through the end of the year.

Among the most interesting items are several works of Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, a few rooms full of Picassos, Miros, Braque, as well as an eclectic selection of moderns including Johns, Pollock, Rauschenberg, Rothko, Warhol, Bacon, and others.

Exhibition of Beyeler CollectionThe Beyeler Foundation is in Riehen, a suburb of Basel accessible by tram. From the railway station, take tram 2 to Messeplatz, then tram 6 to the stop “Fondation Beyeler.” It’s open from Monday - Sunday 10 am to 6 pm and Wednesday 10 am to 8 pm.
